Court-Ordered Mental Health Assessments in Columbus, Ohio

Mental health assessments for court, attorney and probation referrals

Being told you need a mental health assessment can feel stressful, especially in the middle of a legal matter. ClearView Counseling Columbus offers a respectful, professional setting to complete a general mental health assessment and talk through appropriate next steps.

Every court and referral is different, so the first step is always a short call to review what you've been asked to complete and confirm whether this practice can meet those requirements. ClearView may not be the right fit for every type of assessment, and if not, I'll let you know so you can find the right provider quickly.

Who requests an assessment?

You may be seeking an assessment because you were referred by:

  • A court or probation department

  • An attorney representing you in a legal matter

  • Another professional who recommended a mental health evaluation

  • A provider who believes an assessment would help clarify your treatment needs

People are often referred because of concerns about stress, emotional regulation, anger, relationship conflict or mental health symptoms affecting their lives and relationships.

Depending on the referral and what your court or attorney requires, an assessment may include a clinical interview, relevant mental health history, a discussion of current concerns, and recommendations for appropriate services.

Before scheduling, we will discuss the purpose of the assessment, the documentation required, and whether the requested service falls within my scope of practice.
